How do you keep a Desert Rose,(Adenium Obesum), from growing to big?

How can you keep a plant Adenium Osesum from growing too big?
My mom’s plant Desert Rose is growing too big, and I was wondering how can she keep it small?
My mom wants to know if cutting the plant down into a ball will work?

root restriction. put it in a small pot.

I found a website for you and some info about size control and pruning.

Size Control and Pruning

In nature, Adenium obesum can assume the proportions of a large shrub or small tree. However, they live quite happily if their size is restricted, and they will bloom faithfully. Size can be restricted by under-potting. The plant in the picture on the first website is about 20 years old, is about 20 inches tall, and is in a 9 inch pot.
