Has anyone experienced growing roses instead of buying them for their wedding?

I am engaged and I am trying to find ways to save money but have a nice wedding. I would like to grow my own flowers to save money and I am not sure if it is worth it. I don’t know the first thing about what roses to buy, how to grow them, when to plant them. Our wedding is still pretty far away so I have time to research this, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i would say if is a lot to deal with i am not sure of how to grow roses but i am for sure it is a lot of work and i think the temp is a factor
The thing with roses is that there fussy. My parents use to have a rose garden and there were certain flowers you couldn’t use, they struggled keeping the slugs away, the bugs on the roses were hard to get rid of , because if you used bug killer, you would kill the flowers, it took them a couple seasons to get good at it, I dont think its impossible, but I am just saying there pretty fussy.
The other thing, is that some roses were easier to grow them others, so if your picky about colors, research which roses are easier to grow.
That’s a good idea to grow your own flowers, but since you have a lot of time, find out what flowers are in seasons when your getting married and shop around for good prices, if your craft or someone you know is, just buy the flowers the night before, and put them into bouquets on your own, this will save you money as well.
I thought about it until I found silk versions of the rose I want (the rose I want is a Peace Rose, a hybrid not found in many florist shops). I was all about it at first, and then I realized it was too much of a risk. Some things to ask yourself first– What if they don’t take off? Do you have someone to water them if you go away? What’s the time that you’d have to spend on them?/Would it just be worth it to buy them and be done with it versus having to care for them everyday?
don’t do it. you’ll be so occupied and stressed that the last thing on your mind would be taking care of roses- go to Costco or Sam’s club
you can get 2 dozen roses for about 15 dollars
when yo go into the store and pick them up
you can also do a mixed flower bouquet with roses in it- that could save you money as well
