If you want to grow a cherry tree from a pit , just put the pit into a container with good dirt and grow, it will take several years before it will bare any fruit, therefore go to a nursery and buy a 3 year old tree ,It will still take at least another year before it gets established and bears fruit. Good luck and they are easy to grow.
water only when dry or let nature do the work depending on where you live.I don't know about the black roses and would like to know myself, I have all but black roses, never seen one, let me know please.

Uhm… I have grown roses for years and have never heard of black ones.
As for the cherry tree, are you talking about an ornamental cherry tree or one that actually gives fruit? Your local HomeDepot or Lowe’s probably has flowering (ie, non-fruiting) cherry trees, and you can find fruiting ones off the internet or at dedicated fruit tree nurseries.
Cherry trees are full sun and, like all fruit trees, appreciate water. Roses are also full sun and love water too.
