Do you have a stiff board or something like that you can use to support the rootball on the “non shovel” side?

  2. kaoritubes

this has got to be the best advise and the most creative vid i’ve seen on this topic. thx! i wish i had 2 shovels though. have to move 4 roses from front yard to back. the only luck i have is, it will be raining for the next few days. any advise on what i can do instead of using 2 shovels?

  3. posyplanter

A drizzley, rainy day would be an added bonus, [that's not always possible]……….very helpful, thanks!

love the energy and the let’s get down to business -(ness ..?) of your vids,
practical and great to watch! thanks!

Your website is the best. It’s very informative. May i ask what part of rose is best to propagate? How to propagate? I love roses.I have 20 roses and i want to grow more. please help me. Thank you.

I would try to move those as if they were growing season if you have to move them now. Then watch them and if need be cut them back if the growth doesn’t recover after a week or so.

Greatly informative videos! thank you. I live in No California in a foothills valley where the winters are pretty mild. down to 32-31 degrees F. I have to move roses that are still blooming in October. I have tree roses and a bushy one that grows about 7-8 feet high and easily 4 feet wide. Should I treat as if it were dormant and transplant as your videos instruct for dormant (bare root) or as if it were growing season and needs a root ball?
    Thank you.

Nice to know you’re listening in on feedback. I’m a Master Gardener so these things seem a little more critical to me. ;~)

Good point on the prepping the hole. The next video will be planting roses from a container and I’ll make sure to go in depth more there.

    Thanks

Good stuff. The only thing I saw missing was how to prepare the new planting hole. That is, how deep should the new hole be? How wide, angled sides or sloping?

Thank you for passing on your experience. You will make good rosarians out of us yet!
