plant a seed …its a start
go to david austin roses website, it will show you more details. roses come in bareroots.
you sound to virgin at this. get a seed and get a shovel
one of those garden shovels that know how deep you should plant your seed
and stick it threw til you dont see the silver part anymore and dig it up
throw your seed in
water it and dont pat down the soil
and i dont know… and everyday you go water them
I love Roses, and usually I buy the potted plants; occasionally I start one from a cutting. roses require work, but are worth the effort. they grow best in soil that is not too wet and in full sun. you need to feed them regularly with a special fertilizer and bone meal for roses.
this is how I start a cutting from another rose.. cut at a slant just about one inch from a Y prong….put root tone on the bottom of the cut, then put in potting soil in a 6 inch pot; plant the cutting with soil just to above the where the “Y” meets; about where the quotation marks are. you will have the stem and leaves exposed at the top; water and put pot in a gallon freezer bag to seal in the moisture. Set in a warm place where light can get to it.
Good luck and I hope you do well with your roses.
